Follow Your Heart and Buy the Male Engagement Rings
Until fairly recently, for the most part only women wore engagement rings. But times are changing, and there is no reason only men can do the proposing! In the last few years male engagement rings have been increasing in popularity to the point that there are many different choices now on the market. Also, because they are not as elaborate as female engagement rings, they are usually much more budget friendly, although the more intricate and heavier rings can cost just as much as female engagement rings.
There are many cultures around the world where male engagement rings are what is normal. In Argentina, the men and women both wear engagement rings to show their commitment and affection for one another. Canadian singer Michael Buble wore an engagement ring while he was engaged to Argentinean model and actress Luisana Lopilato. He wore the simple gold band in respect his fiancé’s culture and heritage. In cultures where it is common to wear male engagement rings, they are usually worn on the right hand and switched to the left hand after the wedding.
In some countries around the world, there are laws against men refusing a woman’s proposal, and if he does, he has to pay a fee of some sort. In Scotland and Denmark, it is a fun tradition for women to propose on Leap Day. The Greek culture, however, believe this is bad luck and avoid proposals and weddings on this day.
There are a lot more metal options for men’s rings than women’s. Traditionally, they were mostly gold, but now titanium, platinum, and palladium are also very popular. If durability is important, palladium, titanium, stainless steel, and tungsten carbide are all metals commonly used to make very strong male engagement rings.
There are nearly as many design options for male engagement rings as there is for women’s engagement rings. Rings with intricate designs and carvings and even small, embedded diamonds are all very sought-after. Two tone rings, such as black and titanium or another white metal, make a dramatic statement of contrast.
In this modern world, there is no reason to wait to be proposed to. If it feels like the right thing to do, if your heart knows he or she is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with, whether you are a man or a woman, seize the opportunity and follow your heart.
